Emojis are fun to use. However, they are also very important. We use emojis to show emotion when we are communicating digitally by email, message or chat. When we communicate digitally, we cannot see each other's faces and emojis help to add context to the topic. For example, if we use a laughing emoji when writing a message, it helps to show it's not too serious or if we use a sad or crying emoji, it shows that we're sad about something or we are sharing an emotion with the other person. Emojis are popular around the world and another great thing about them is that they are common across all languages!

Now listen to the slower version and type what you hear into the text box.
