President John Kennedy led the USA for just a few years in the early 1960s. This short dictation is the briefest of introductions to his time as president.
Not covered in the dictation is the fact that he was rather friendly with another icon of 1960s America. The famous Hollywood actress, Marilyn Monroe, was a mistress of Kennedy during his time in The White House.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, also commonly known by his initials JFK, was the 35th president of the United States of America. He served from 1961 and may be best remembered for his role in the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. At that time, the Soviet Union were found to be preparing to base nuclear missiles on the Caribbean island of Cuba. Despite his success in bringing that crisis to a peaceful end, Kennedy never got to run for a second term as President as he was killed by a gunman in Dallas in 1963.
Now listen to the slower version and type what you hear into the text box.
