In my own humble opinion, ironing is extreme to start with. Creases and crumples add a bit of character to clothing, a bit like a scar on the cheek or laughter lines around the eyes.
However, that's not the case for everyone it seems.
If you've not heard the phrase extreme ironing before, you'll probably find the content of this short dictation rather surprising.

Extreme ironing is a combination of ironing and extreme sports. Extreme ironing is the act of ironing clothes while skydiving, bungee jumping, hang gliding, paragliding, rock climbing, base jumping or scuba diving.
People who take part in extreme ironing will try to find new and exciting places to do some ironing. For example, in 2003, three extreme ironing participants ironed the Union Jack flag, just above the Everest base station.
Extreme ironing has inspired many other extreme sports, including extreme cello playing!
Now listen to the slower version and type what you hear into the text box.
